The part time CHN/HC provides diabetes-related counseling and management advice, blood glucose and blood pressure screening clinics 3 times weekly through the Wellness Program , quarterly diabetes educational events, home visitation as required. The HCC program home support workers area available to manage the home care needs of diabetic patients (i.e.: homemaker services, monitoring, wound management etc.). The part time CHN assists the ADI team in organizing and delivering healthy lifestyle educations programs to the school children in the community. In addition, the prenatal program (CPNP) has a gestational diabetes-monitoring mandate.

The MANGO program (based in the Miramichi Regional Health Authority) is very active in the community in initiating and supporting any healthy lifestyle programs in the home, school and community. MANGO offers a RD who works regularly with the health staff and the ADI team to deliver such programs. MRHA offers a satellite diabetes clinic to the community health centre approximately 6 times per year for diabetes management, follow-up, and liaising with local family physicians for improving diabetes management. Walking programs are also regularly available, and the school staff and students are very well read with respect to healthy lifestyle education. An annual diabetes screening clinic is held in the community school for grades preschool to 8.

In addition, ADI prevention and promotion programs are available on demand, with limited financial assistance for non-benefit diabetes-related supplies (on a case-by-case basis), as well as medical transportation services for in-town and long distance appointments.

The Community Diabetes Prevention Worker provides monthly mini diabetes health fairs and monthly promotions on various diabetes related topics.
